For decades, fashion and wine have been inextricably linked. The fashion elite love to party at wine and fizz-fueled gatherings. On the other hand, many wineries understand the appeal of partnering with a well-known designer to increase their businesses. It is a symbiotic relationship and a marriage made in heaven that instills a sense of connoisseurship in collectors.
The talented Delevingne sisters are collaborating to join their forces behind a new enterprise, having already mastered the fields of modeling, acting, and medicine. Della Vite – the Italian version of Delevingne, translating to ‘of the vine’ – is Chloe, Poppy, and Cara’s first step into Prosecco production and is their first foray into the world of winemaking. It is the first time all three sisters have worked together on a business enterprise.
These sisters have collaborated with the Biasiotto family of winemakers through childhood friend Numa Heathcote, and have released two new labels of wines: the Della Vite Superiore (DOCG), which has “hints of star fruit and ripe crab apple,” and the Treviso (DOC), which has “a perfume of peach, pear, red apple, and wild strawberries.” The fizzes are made sustainably, are vegan, and include Poppy’s handwriting on the bottles.
With vineyards in Bordeaux and Napa Valley, Chanel is no novice to winemaking. However, the renowned fashion brand added the gorgeous Domaine de l’Ile to its collection at the end of 2021. The results of their hard work were recently published.
Pinknic Festival: Everything You Need to Know
The gorgeous estate is located on the lovely island of Porquerolles, just off the French Riviera. It has an ancient legacy of wine production, including Syrah, Rolle, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, and Tibouren grape varieties. The Rolle provides the foundation for the light and refreshing Domaine de l’Ile White.
However, the recently released Rosé entices the palate. Its lovely blush color and fresh, vibrant blend of barley sugar, mandarin, and apricot make it an ideal pick for the remaining days of summer.
Did you know? Natural wine that is alive with the terroir that produced it, free of pesticides, chemicals, colors, and fillers, usually stimulates a strong passion.
Thus, Rosie Assoulin, a designer immensely inspired by the natural wines she was tasting, decided to make her own wine. Consequently, Rosie teamed up with natural winemakers Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau, alongside her husband, Max.
This team’s efforts culminated in the recent release of two outstanding vintages: a red Gamay and an orange skin-contact wine. There are only 500 cases of each type of wine available.
Early Christian Women and Wine
Regarding beverage collaborations, French design legend Christian Lacroix has a lot of experience. He brought his haute couture talents to the design of a Chivas Regal Scotch Whisky 12-Year-Old Magnum in 2009, followed a year later by the Chivas 18-Year-Old.
In honor of the 70th anniversary of its Lampe de Méduse Cuvee, the designer has linked up with the Provençal Château Sainte Roseline estate. Lacroix has produced an ornate lace-like label for the estate’s Lampe de Méduse 2019 Rosé, with a bottle form claimed to be influenced by a perfume flacon (nearby Grasse being the home of French fragrance). Having the aromas of peach and mango, this complex limited-edition wine is also bottled in large format bottles, including Magnums, Jeroboams, and Mathusalems.
