Mondovino wine documentary

2004 - Mondovino wine documentary

This ambitious Palme d’Or nominee takes us to France, Italy, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and the US to study the effects of globalization on the industry, whereas most wine films concentrate on a single region or nation. A fervent supporter of tiny, independent producers, filmmaker Jonathan Nossiter (a former sommelier at Balthazar in New York) is pleased to share this belief with his viewers. With this movie, he hopes to expose how a select group of influential people, including consultant Michel Rolland and wine experts James Suckling and Robert Parker, are to blame for the abundance of uniform, heavily-oaked Bordeaux clones currently available on the market.
