Tilar Mazzeo narrates the biography and history of Madame Clicquot Ponsardin (1777 – 1866), known as the “Grande Dame of Champagne.” Madame Clicquot is recognized as the first woman to run a wine company in history, after her husband passed away when she was 27, leaving her in control of his business affairs. She created an empire characterized by producing one of the best champagnes in the world, introducing new champagne-making techniques into common usage.

October 6, 2017: On this day, the 2016 Chardonnay from Babylonstoren was the winner of the Double Gold medal at the Veritas Awards. As one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa, Babylonstoren has managed to preserve its wine tradition and turn its facilities into a tourist attraction and hotel, attracting wine lovers from all over the world.
