May 21, 1917: William Raymond Stacy Burr (known in brief as Raymond Burr) was born. Burr had a lengthy acting career, in which he starred in the television shows Ironside and Perry Mason. His Hollywood parts were primarily villainous, such as his role in Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window. He founded Raymond Burr Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley, California. He passed away on September 12, 1993
May 21, 2011: Thieves broke into a wine warehouse under railway arches in Bethnal Green, east London, overnight on 21-22 May 2011, taking about 400 cases of rare vintage wine worth more than 1 million pounds.
