May 15, 1998: On this day, Anderson Valley Pinot Noir Festival was first held. Annually, this festival takes place in Philo, California, in the Anderson Valley. It has been around since 1998 and draws about 450 visitors. Its only concentration is Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley. Many visitors stay on the Mendocino Coast and take a shuttle to the Festival or drive the 1.25 hours from Healdsburg because there is not enough lodging in the Anderson Valley.
