January 31, 2019: On this day, an agreement between Northern Ireland and the UK, and the US on Trade in Wine was signed in Washington. The understanding acknowledged the parties’ intention to forge stronger connections in the wine industry. Within the framework of greater understanding between nations, it was decided to promote the growth of the wine trade, resolved to foster harmony when the Parties discuss problems relating to the trade of win, and intended wan to promote cooperation in the creation and transparency of laws influencing such trade, as well as wanting to make it easier for the Parties to trade wine amongst each other. It was decided to create the groundwork for a comprehensive agreement on the wine trade between the Parties and to offer a framework for ongoing wine industry negotiations.
