December 9, 1987: Ben Lomond Mountain AVA was established. As the name suggests, this AVA boasts a mountainous terroir. It is located in the western part of the Santa Cruz Mountains in Santa Cruz County. It is elevated up to approximately 2600ft above sea level removing it from the fog influences of the Pacific Ocean. Long sunlight hours and cool mountainous breezes ensure extended ripening and growing season. Grapes from this AVA are age worth and exhibit excellent minerality.

December 9, 2002: Shacheng wine (Hebei) received Chinese origin-product/GI protection on 9 December 2002.
